Hi Loves! & Happy Wednesday!
Life has been a whirlwind lately, and I haven't been providing as much content as I'd like for you all. But I am super excited for things to settle down a little (or not haha), and for exciting things coming to the blog in the next few months!
Life Update: I'm still painting, of course. I have rolled the majority of the house, but now it's the tedious detail of going around the whole house with my little paintbrush and finishing the edges/crown molding. I'll get there someday! It looks SO much better already and makes our house feel cleaner and more open.
I wanted to pop in and share this casual date night look with you all. I've said it before, but I think date nights are so important. Whether you get all dressed up and go out or have a pizza and wine night in together at home, it's so important to make that time for one another, even when it seems like life is just too busy. The last couple of months have been crazy for Carl Michael and I. We have moved, we both work Monday-Friday (CM works more than that, actually), and Carl Michael has started going back to school to get another degree (so proud)! Date nights haven't been easy to fit into our schedule, but when we get a free night here or there, we use it to go to dinner or watch a movie or just sit on the couch together and talk. Moral of the story: just date each other! ;)
So back to the outfit - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blazer! I picked it up at H&M a few weeks ago, and I have been wearing it constantly. It's so easy to throw on over a cute tank or dress to dress up an outfit a little. And as you see with this look, I even pair it with distressed denim. Blazers are a great staple piece to have in your closet. They're super easy to transition from work to play and can be worn year round. I love this one because the color and texture of it make it look a little lighter for spring and summer. It's priced right at $50, but I've definitely already gotten my money's worth for how often I wear it and how transitional it is.
PS can y'all believe these pretty earrings are only $12?! I can't get over it. And I also can't get over how light they are. I rarely wear big/heavy earrings because my ears are really sensitive and I can only stand to have them on for about an hour or so. But these are like a feather and I honestly forget that I'm wearing them. They add such a pretty touch to a basic outfit without the trouble of having your ears hurting at the end of the night. Same with my shoes - super comfy. I was actually pleasantly surprised after wearing them all night at a wedding (and dancing, of course), and coming home with not a single blister! I have never been one of those girls to take off my shoes at weddings or on the ride home after a night out, so it helps when your shoes don't kill you by the end of the night.
This whole look is so comfy & easy - making it perfect for an impromptu/casual date night! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week. Halfway to the weekend.. YAY!
XOXO MEGAN KRISTINE.
